Good Morning Passionistas! I wanted to reach out and touch your with a word of power regarding change! The Word tells us in Romans 12:2 The Amplified...2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
One powerful truth here is to be transformed by changing your entire mind with new ideals and attitudes. Did you catch that! Change your thinking and you will change your life!
Being an addictions counselor, I would literally pound this principle into the newbies’ program. Change your thinking change your life! Over and over and over again. If you are constantly thinking about getting high, change what you’re thinking about. A craving will pass in 15 to 20 minutes. All you have to do is occupy your mind for that time to overcome the thought process.
Here’s my point: what are you struggling with today? Let’s take a moment to look at it. How are you approaching your struggle? How do you really feel about it? If you are going to change in this area, what do you have to do to facilitate the change?
Think about what you’re thinking about! Take the time to write out a step by step plan of “change”. This will help with changing your thinking, sticking to a plan, and overcoming in this area that is troubling you.
Use the internet. It’s a free resource, use it. Open a Word document and cut and paste things that you would like to try to help you. Remember this is your program. You need to experiment until you find what works for you. And again, there is no hard and fast rule on the steps you need to take to change your thinking…you just need to do it. Please shoot me a comment or reach out to me on my emails if you would like to talk about this. My email is easy…firstname.lastname@example.org
You have to make a change to implement the change!
